Friendship Club went on the Historical Trolley Tour around Salisbury on Saturday, September 23. Some of the sights were historical homes, the original Cheerwine building, the Salisbury National Cemetery, and film locations for popular movies and TV shows. The tour guide told about several ghosts that live in some of the houses, some of the “strange” deaths that had occurred, and some of the famous people who had lived in Salisbury. After the educational tour, we went to Emma’s Restaurant for a delicious brunch.
Upcoming events for Friendship Club include a performance of “My Fair Lady” in High Point on Saturday, October 7 with lunch at Longhorn Steak House. On Thursday, October 12 members will travel to the Southern Supreme Fruitcake Company to tour their facilities and shop in their store. Lunch will be at the K&W in Asheboro. Please let Cathy know by Monday, October 9 if you are interested in going to see fruitcakes being made. If you need a ride or will take riders, let me know that too.
If you are interested in going to Catawba College for the Carols and Lessons program on Thursday, November 30, let Cathy know. She will need to reserve tickets soon.
