United Friendship Club

The United Friendship Club enjoyed a delicious covered dish meal on Wednesday, January 25^th.  Thank you to Joyce Price, Vicky Green, Nancy Robbins and Wanda Daye for the beautiful table decorations and door prizes.

Reverend Banks Shepherd shared devotions and introduced our speaker, Barb DeSouza.  Barb is an ordained minister with standings in the United Church of Christ.  Barb spent 26 years as a missionary in Brazil for Global Ministries, a joint effort with the United Church of Christ and the Disciples of Christ.  She shared a video as part of her presentation which was shown at the General Synod the year Barb received the Antoinette Brown Award for her work on behalf of the United Church of Christ. Barb and husband, Gus recently joined First Reformed UCC.

Members of the United Friendship Club will participate in the Community Lenten Service for its February 22^nd meeting.  The Ash Wednesday Service will be held at First United Methodist Church in downtown Lexington.  We will sit together at the service and those that wish may stay for the light lunch prepared by the Methodist church.  Cost of the meal is $6.00.
