Dear Beloved Community,

I hope you can find a few minutes to walk through the Prayer Stations of Holy Week on Friday or Saturday.   These stations focus on some of the most powerful moments in the last night of Jesus’ life, giving depth to help us fully experience the transformation of Easter! I am grateful to Rev. June Grubb, Lynn Brown, Smithie Parrish, Alisa Johnson and Mike Price for creating such an amazing way to worship.

Peace,
Elizabeth SERMON TITLE: “FROM THE TOMB”  SCRIPTURE: LUKE 24: 1-12

FIRST REFORMED UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
APRIL IS CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH. Next Sunday we will come together as one to hold up in prayer all those who have been the victim of child abuse. Our church, The Dragonfly House, The Lexington Police Department and other members of the community share in our efforts to raise awareness, hope and healing through prayer. We invite you to join us as we pray for abused children everywhere and those who help rescue them.
During our 10:30 Worship Service, we will have guest speakers…Brandi Reagan, Executive Director of The Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center and Lexington Police Chief, Robby Rummage. Following the worship, members of the congregation and community are invited to participate in a prayer walk from FRUCC to the Lexington square and back to the church green space. Participants are encouraged to walk with a blue flag during this time to symbolize one of 400+ child abuse victims in the community, who were seen at the Dragonfly House last year. Members of The Lexington Police Department will be present to participate in and assist in the event.  Chief Rummage will coordinate those staff members who are able to participate. Once at FRUCC green space, we will place the flags in the ground to honor the children.
