Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, where we sing Hosanna and celebrate with palms. Seven days later we sing Alleluia and celebrate the resurrection.

We might be tempted to assume Holy Week is just one long week of celebration. Quite the contrary. Between these two Sundays lies a slow and dark journey including Maundy Thursday at the table,  Good Friday at the Cross, and Holy Saturday, at the Grave.  The days between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday are filled with humanity at our worst, where we strain to see a couple glimpses of who we can be at our best.

This Sunday, as we celebrate the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem, we hear how the disciples worked together to do exactly what Jesus asked. We hear how the people gathered, so grateful for a new kind of king to come, one who would usher in the presence of peace.

On this Palm Sunday, may we gather in cooperation, faithfulness, and hope, giving thanks for the Prince of Peace.

Hosanna!  Lord save us!

This week’s sermon: You Are Here: In the Church that Cries Out!

Sunday night, join with the youth, children and families at 6:00pm to make your own Palm Sundae!

Please come by the sanctuary on either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, for The Prayer Stations of Holy Week.

On Thursday at 7:00pm, we will gather for the Service of Communion and Tenebrae.
At the table…At the cross…At the grave.

I hope to see you Sunday and throughout Holy Week

Walking with you to the cross,
Elizabeth
 HOLY WEEK APRIL 10-16

Intercessory Prayer is a powerful ministry. Praying for another person helps us connect more deeply to each other and amplify needs before God. While we pray together on Sundays, emergencies and unexpected circumstances happen during the week. In these cases, would you volunteer to be part of an Intercessory Prayer Partner Ministry?
Like a prayer chain, this begins by calling one of our ministers, the church office, or Patti Lovell with your prayer request. it will then be shared immediately with volunteers who have made a commitment to offer intercessory prayer immediately when they receive the message. Communication will be either text or phone call.
If you would like to be on the list as an Intercessory Prayer Partnerplease call or text Patti Lovell at (336) 309-9302. We’d like to have the list completed by Easter Sunday.
