The public is invited to the annual Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion Service at First Reformed United Church of Christ on Thursday, Dec. 24th, at 7:30 p.m. The earlier time will make it more convenient for seniors and families with young children to attend.
The service will take place in the historic sanctuary, built in 1928. It will be aglow in candlelight and softly illuminated by a 15-foot tree strung with 2,000 white lights. Also adorning the tree are hundreds of white Chrismon ornaments handcrafted by women of the church.
When entering the narthex, congregation and visitors will receive candles they will light during the service. They will join with the choir in singing selected carols and hymns featured in the Candlelight Service. Congregants will also gather at the manger for a service of Holy Communion.
