Community Garden
Our Community Garden is an important part of our community outreach each year. Church volunteers and their friends work hard throughout the the growing season preparing and enriching the soil, planting, weeding, tending, watering, and harvesting hundreds of pounds of vegetables. Fresh vegetables lovingly grown by dedicated volunteers are joyfully donated to Pastor’s Pantry clients who are in need of food. DVD Ministry
For about five years now, a DVD of the Sunday morning service has been available for those unable to physically attend. If you don’t have a way to view a DVD, no problem…the Evangelism Board has DVD players to bring to your home. If you are not currently receiving a copy of the service and would like to have this ministry made available, or you missed a service and would like a copy, please contact the church office at 248-2617.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl/Blanket Ministry sews and knits or crochets lap-size blankets and shawls for those experiencing illnesses, difficult times, youth going off to college, newborns, baptisms, and weddings. Prayers are offered for recipients as the blankets and shawls are constructed. This has become a fast-growing ministry of First Reformed United Church of Christ. Meals on Wheels
First Reformed UCC shares its large, commercial kitchen with Meals on Wheels Mondays through Friday, where two part-time cooks prepare over 100 hot, nutritious lunches for clients homebound clients in the Lexington City limits.
