HORTOND  Dear Beloved Community, This Lent, let’s focus not on a Lenten journey, but let us explore the very place where we stand, our location, our spot in the world. This Lent let us explore what it means to proclaim that God is present, no matter where we are, even if it is in the shadow of death. Let us dive deeply into the proclamation that God can find you no matter where you are. Any place can be a place for resurrection. This Sunday, we begin with Jesus’s Temptation in the Wilderness. How did Jesus end up in this desolate, void place when he was just baptized in the lush waters of the Jordan? What happened to God’s promise of being Beloved? Is God there? We, too, ask these questions: How do we end up in our own wilderness? Is God present? Join us Sunday n person or on line as we explore: Where is The Promised Land? In Luke 13:34 Jesus tells us how he wants “to gather us up, like a mother hen gathers her brood.” The Season of Lent is a time to learn in our self-examination that we are what might be most in need of transformation. We might find that what we might need to grow in faith and discipleship is the church, and that the transformation of the world begins with building bridges and gathering up rather than condemnation. NAMI FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP STARTING Beginning in April, we will have National Alliance on Mental Illness resources here in Lexington! The Family Support Group begins in April on the 1st and 3rd Mondays via Zoom. Cathy Browder will co-facilitate. She and her husband Joe have been instrumental in getting this ministry up and running.
