Sunday’s Sermon:  The Edges of Our Faith: In the DepthsRev. Elizabeth HortonScripture Reading: 2 Kings 2:1-14
Looking Toward SundayA Message From Rev. HortonWhat a glorious Sunday this will be!   We welcome Casey and Camill Ball into the life of the church AND we get to gather around the font of living water for the baptism of both Camill and their precious 10-month-old daughter Selah!   Baptism is one of the sacraments we recognize (the other is Holy Communion). The baptismal waters symbolize the gift of the unconditional grace of God, a gift freely given.  Selah and Camill will rise from the waters in new life. They are claimed by God, forever and always.   In the baptism moment, the church will be transformed too. We will make a promise to Selah and her parents, that we will make a place for them at First Reformed, to help them learn and grow in their faith, and to learn from them as well.   Also on Sunday, Emma West (daughter of Stacy and Billy West) will share Special Music in worship. She is a rising Senior in Vocal Performance at the School of Music at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.   Since she is home for a little bit before heading back to Illinois, Emma will perform her Junior Recital for her hometown family on Sunday afternoon in the sanctuary. All are invited! We are grateful Emma will be with us Sunday, and we pray for continued blessings for her journey ahead.  Come join in the celebration Sunday! In faith, hope, and love, Elizabeth
