Upcoming Events for 5-21-18 thru 5-27-18

Looking toward Sunday…

It’s Pentecost! The day we celebrate the Holy Spirit, and it’s one of my favorite days in the life of the Church! The Day of Pentecost recalls the story of our ancestors when God poured out the Holy Spirit on a diverse group of disciples causing absolute chaos, which in turn led to the beginning of the church as we know it!

In worship we will
· Hear an update in the Building an Inclusive Church process.
· Receive new members into the congregation!
· Begin the Prayer Circle after service, praying for others.

Our sermon will come from Ezekiel 37, where the prophet sees the dry bones, and then hears God’s voice and sees God’s Spirit at work in ways Ezekiel never thought possible.
And at 9:45 in the “UCC: Who We Are” discussion, we have a special guest who will tell the story of the beginning of our congregation.
Come join us, and get ready….There’s a Holy Wind blowing through First Reformed UCC!

DISCOVER is a program that challenges formative middle and high school youth with careful theological and moral reflection prior to college life. In the midst of theological reflection and activity, students will have the opportunity to discover God in new ways, especially as incarnational and interactive; discover who they are as children of God; discover how to live out their faith; and discover what they are called to do vocationally.
