The East Lexington Collaborative Ministry Group will host a CPR & Basic First Aid class in early 2019. Cost will be determined by class size.     The First Reformed UCC Board of Community Outreach is offering an “Alternative Gift Fair.” There will be a booth setup at the Women’s Life Fellowship Bake Sale. Make a donation to one of our benevolences in honor of teachers, family members, friends, co-workers, etc. We will provide an acknowledgement card and envelope for you to mail.

  1. Volunteers Needed
    First Reformed UCC needs volunteers to help ring the bell for the Salvation Army on December 15th. We will be stationed in front of Lanier’s Ace Hardware. Volunteers will fill a 1-hour time slot. Times begin at 10:00 and end with the 5-6:00 slot.   2. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A CPR CLASS?
    The East Lexington Collaborative Ministry Group (Frist Reformed UCC, Second Reformed UCC, Shady Side Presbyterian Church and St. Stephens UMC) will host a CPR & Basic First Aid Class in early 2019. If you are interested in taking this class, please contact the church office by Sunday, November 11, 2018. The cost of the class will be determined by class size. If you would like to be certified, the cost will be an additional $10.00. You do not need to be certified to take the class.
  3. RESERVE YOUR POINSETTIAS NOW!
    Reserve a poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one. The cost is $13.00 per plant. These will be placed in the sanctuary the first Sunday of Advent, December 2nd. Poinsettias can be picked up immediately following worship that day to enjoy at home during the Advent Season. Please fill out the information form below and place it in the offering plate or call the church office. Order deadline is SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 25th. Enter your Names and Click SUBMIT and Your POINSETTIAS list will be sent to the church office.

  4. NEW CHRISMONS
    Women’s Life Fellowship is beginning an effort to replace many of the Chrismons that are old and in disrepair. They would like to offer everyone the opportunity to contribute to the purchase of new Chrismons in honor of or in memory of someone special in your life. If you are interested, please complete the form below bring to the office by November 25th along with $20 each to help cover the cost of the new Chrismons. A list will be included in the bulletin the first Sunday in December similar to Poinsettias purchased in honor or memory of loved ones. The Chrismons will remain at the church to be used each Christmas. To contribute to the purchase of new Chrismons, Enter your information and Click the SUBMIT button below and Your Chrismons order will be sent to the church office.
  5. Sunday, December 2, 12:00PM (FH)
    Fifteen to twenty chili cooks are needed to enter the cook-off and provide the main part of the meal. A small salad, cornbread, drinks and desserts will be on the menu. Bring plenty of dollar bills to vote for your favorite. Winner will be announced at 1:00! Please contact Cathy by Sunday, November 25 if you wish to enter a pot of chili.
  6. The Tree of “Angels” will be placed in the breezeway of the Education Building again this year. Make a donation (your discretion) to place an angel on the tree in honor or memory of someone. Donations will assist with year-end benevolences. Please fill out the form below and place it in the offering plate or contact the church office. To contribute to the Tree Of Angels, Enter your information and Click the SUBMIT button below and your Donations will be sent to the church office.
  7. ATTENTION CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENTS
    It is time to apply for the Hinkle, Sink, Swing Scholarship. Applications are available in the church office or can be emailed by contacting Paula at paula@frucc.org. Applications should be completed and back in the office by DECEMBER 31, 2018.
